What Is Fractional PR?

Fractional PR is a modern approach to brand visibility and communications support—built for today’s fast-paced, budget-conscious companies. Rather than hiring a full-time employee or committing to an expensive PR firm, fractional consulting offers flexible, senior-level expertise on a part-time basis. It’s custom-fit, cost-efficient, and focused on outcomes.

Why Brands Are Turning to Fractional PR

Hiring a full-time marketing or PR professional often means you’re paying for:

  • Long onboarding cycles
  • Salary, benefits, paid time off
  • Hours lost to lunch breaks, status meetings, and office distractions

With a fractional consultant, you’re only paying for:

  • Senior talent at a fraction of a full time salary of PR firm
  • Strategic execution
  • Focused hours tied to measurable results
  • Proactive outreach, not reactive status updates

That means no mid-afternoon social media scrolling, no idle Slack time—just efficient, ROI-driven communications from a trusted pro.

How It Works

Fractional PR isn’t one-size-fits-all. It starts with identifying exactly what your brand needs:

  • Brand development and strategy?
  • National press outreach?
  • Influencer strategy?
  • Affiliate marketing setup?
  • Email and blog content that converts?

From there, we determine the scope and cadence. You might need:

  • 10 hours/month of senior-level PR support
  • A 90-day product launch blitz
  • Ongoing media outreach + content strategy for key growth quarters

For some clients, a three month contract to launch and help scale an affiliate program will help dive measurable ROI and boost sales.

For others, ongoing media outreach ensures that a brand doesn’t have the initial bump of a launch media blitz with no follow up coverage, resulting in diminished sales and a loss of traction.

Everything is tracked, reported, and optimized around your KPIs.

My Path to Fractional Consulting

I started my career at large, traditional PR agencies, where junior teams did the legwork while senior managers handled the calls. I sat in countless briefing rooms, updating senior team members on the work that had been completed for the month prior to an in-person client meeting. I saw firsthand how this model often left founders disconnected from the actual work. My own work ethic led to being recruited from one of these firms by a venture capitalist who saw that I was able to deliver results without the price tag my firm was charging for superfluous team members.

Representing his portfolio of clients, based in Europe, Asia, South America, and the United States, I learned the ins and outs of not only communications, but business development, strategic partnerships, influencer marketing strategies, and celebrity seeding. That’s where the model clicked: high-level strategy, customized support, lean execution.

During the 2008 recession, company-wide layoffs meant I left a CMO role to build a new kind of consultancy—one that could support early-stage and growth brands with high potential, even if they weren’t yet ready for a full-time hire. I also launched two of my own companies: BlogWire/SheBlogs.org – the first earned-coverage platform connecting bloggers and “microbloggers” (now called influencers) with brands and Events By Paradise, a luxury event production studio.

Through my work with BlogWire, I had the opportunity to work with some of the country’s most recognizable brands: Bic, Lands’ End, SC Johnson, GoPro, and more than 500 others on creating targeted, results-driven activations for digital outreach. My work was recognized by Forbes Magazine, PR Week, Bulldog Reporter, and others, and our subsequent conferences, SheCon 2011 and SheCon 2012, were ranked among the country’s top events for young entrepreneurs by Under30CEO.

All of that is to say: I know the struggle of scaling a brand, wearing multiple hats, and committing all of your waking hours to a single dream. I can relate to the brands that drive impact and change in the market, and I have a passion for working as part of a team to solve the complex puzzle of what drives one company’s success where another lags behind.

Who It’s For

Fractional PR is ideal for:

  • Startups and founder-led brands
  • High-growth companies preparing for launch or funding
  • Wellness, skincare, sustainability, and lifestyle brands ready to scale
  • Nonprofit organizations with limited budgets allocated for marketing and fundraising, who need real results

I’ve worked with some of the country’s most well-known companies and executed digital marketing outreach at scale—but my passion lies in launch and growth-phase marketing, where the needle visibly moves, and where large corporate structure slows decision-making and movement.

If you’re ready for strategic support without the overhead, fractional PR might be exactly what you’ve been looking for.
